“Fall, leaves, fall; die, flowers, away;
Lengthen night and shorten day;
Every leaf speaks bliss to me
Fluttering from the autumn tree.
I shall smile when wreaths of snow
Blossom where the rose should grow;
I shall sing when night’s decay
Ushers in a drearier day.” Emily Brontë (1818 – 1848)

My Weekly Journal
A weekly newsletter that gives you 5 personal interests that I share with you.
1. Happy to share my love of writing with some young authors this week. During the workshop, we reviewed the ingredients required to create a story. I read excerpts from two books; a few pages of my book Samba on a Snowy Day and one chapter from Roald Dahl’s, The Witches.
The writing organization I belong to WCYR presented me with an opportunity to share a creative writing workshop with children as part of the East Gwillimbury Public Library virtual programs. The workshop is scheduled for Thursday, November 19, 2020.
2. My reading pleasure took me back to Wild Mind: Living The Writer’s Life by Natalie Goldberg. A great writer’s resource that includes thirty-five “Try this” exercises to get your pen in motion.
I am also enjoying a book I work on regularly, Just Write One Thing Today – 365 Creative Prompts To Inspire You Every Day by John Gillard. An inspirational gift from my daughter Nadia.
Watching the RCM virtual presentation of The Resounding Concert took up one of my evenings; a dazzling mix of eye and ear candy. Available to Livestream until October 24.
4. A friend recently mentioned that she had watched everything on Netflix, her question, “what next”?
I responded, “get outside and watch nature.”
5. Road trips, I used to take road trips; visiting martial arts dojo’s or friends cottages in the near north and jazz festivals, lots of music festivals. This Friday I will venture off on a road trip to distant Guelph to help my daughter’s dog, Samba.
