November 20 . Issue #65

My eye candy, my ear candy, Santa Clause Parade (virtually) and more…

Welcome to my Weekly Journal

This week 5 things that interested me and I thought might interest you.

1. I Am Women,  the Helen Reddy story, a 2019 movie that I watched this week and found enjoyable.

Another movie that came highly recommended: The Life Ahead, Sophia Loren, performing at her best and starring in a movie that is a family affair. The film is directed by her son, Edoardo Ponti.

The soundtrack from the film is composed by Academy Award winner Gabriel Yared. WM Italy has released the film’s original song Io sì (Seen), written by Diane Warren and performed by Laura Pausini. A wonderful vocalist I had the pleasure of seeing in concert in 2016.

2. “KUNÉ – Canada’s Global Orchestra and Moskitto Bar
Originally broadcast on November 14, 2020 at Koerner Hall in Toronto” as close as you can get to a live performance. I love these multi-cultural bands.

I covered Kune in the old days when concert attendance was a thing. My review of the performance can be located at the webzine, World Music Report.

3. The frozen tundra of Canada is biting, not sure when or if the park training will happen again. Now, I scramble to find a suitable place to practice martial arts in a COVID safe space.

This time of year always brings with it the Santa Claus Parade, since 1905 a yearly tradition. This year, a little different. A virtual parade, you can watch online.

Ontario has introduced a colour-coded COVID code. My home is located in the “Red Zone” and that means trouble. We are one step away from a fullscale lockdown. Yikes!

Holiday lighting glows all around my neighbourhood. Seems too early to me. I always thought the 26th of November the perfect time to string some, colored or white lights on my evergreens.

4. My  Kindle Creative children’s writing workshop continues with session number 5 of 6 sessions. this weeks session all about “Theme”. I will be reading a story I have created during our sessions.

I am also scheduled to present a storytelling workshop at a local library.
