January 29. Issue #75

Let us come alive to the splendor that is all around us and see the beauty in ordinary things.”  Thomas Merton

Hello all and welcome to another week of inspiration and fun. This week has been all about painting, listening to classical music and writing, amongst other things.

1. Celebrating the birth of Mozart and listening to his music as played by Wynton Marsalis – Trumpet Concerto in D Major.

Watching, re-watching a fun show, Mozart in the Jungle.

2. Reading Douglas Adams “The Hitchhiker Guide To The Galaxy” again.

And watching a tribute to the great Douglas Adams.

Watching “Your Honor” a series, not for the children.

3. This week was about the trumpet. This time last year one of my favourite trumpeters, Claudio Roditi, passed away, check out his beautiful playing on “Body and Soul”  https://youtu.be/I-FmBbR1iMU.

“His entire life was geared to enjoyment, of Life and Living it, of great music, of good food, travelling around the world playing his beloved rotary horns, meeting interesting and talented people, making new friends and visiting the longstanding ones, and maintaining his ready sense of humour. Claudio loved to laugh! He always saw the humour in situations, and frequently we were doubled over laughing about something or other.” Kristen Park

Another wonderful musician passed away that same week last year, the wonderful pianist, Norm Amadio. His music continues to bring comfort and joy. Norm and the trio play Jazz Bossa Nova.
