“Sometimes the right person tells the right story at the right moment, and through a combination of luck and design, a creative expression gains new force.”
― Lin-Manuel Miranda, Hamilton: The Revolution

Hello all and welcome to my weekly journal. A place where I share 5 points of interest. Some small things that help get me through the week. Sometimes I share freebies, like new books and stories with you and at other times it’s just food for thought.

1. Google has put together a list of 2500 plus museums for you to browse through; pick one or tour them all. Something for everyone here. Museum Hopping anyone?

My travels this week, day trips to the north country. I ended up in Collingwood an old shipbuilding town with a modernized harbour. Condos and everything.

The featured photo “Merv the Welder” is in honour of the shipbuilders of Collingwood.

2. My review of children’s books continues; this one is all about Yoga, Art and being mindful. Little Mouse Adventure’s, Yoga at the Museum by Teresa Anne Power.

3. My eye candy this week, the hit Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, Hamilton. Outstanding!

The reasons I like it: Lin-Manuel Miranda, Leslie Odum Jr., Phillipa Soo, Renée Elise Goldsberry; those are just a few of the reasons.

Leslie Odum Jr. – Speak Now.

4. My reading this week has been all about staying in the present moment. Reading something that was written many centuries ago, Tao Te Ching by Lao-tzu, translated by Stephen Mitchell.

For those interested in what Lao-tzu may have been thinking; the Tao explained.

On a lighter note, I am enjoying the fun story about two rabbits entitled The Green Ember by S.D. Smith. This novel is aimed at middle grades and for me, it’s a reference. A truly enjoyable education.

I hope to one day release a middle-grade novel featuring animals in the starring roles, the protagonist is a rough and tumble black bear.

5. Stay tuned for a great promotion launching next week. My book Samba in Brazil is part of a summer reading series starting next week. More details to follow.

Good news to report and a big thank you to everyone who helped to make it happen. Samba in Brazil has made it to the Amazon Top 100 in Children’s Books on Moving.

Thank you for reading. If you think someone you know would enjoy my newsletter please share it with them. If you are looking for a great children’s book check out my new book, Samba in Brazil; on sale for a limited time.

Or one of my other books, Samba on a Snowy Day or the Brazilian/ Portuguese version Samba em um Dia de Neve.

Stay safe, stay well, stay strong and keep going.
