“Only do what is easy, and life gets hard. Do what is hard, and life gets easy.”  Les Brown

Hello all and a happy, hopeful New Year 2022 to everyone. As my gift for the New Year, I am sharing my Ebook, Samba in Brazil and a whole group of fantastic children’s authors are doing the same. Take advantage of this free reading extravaganza it’s only available for a limited time so don’t delay.

1. My book Samba in Brazil is part of a fantastic promotion that is starting on the 10th; “Great Kids Books” is where you can go to download your free Ebook.

2. I enjoy listening to ‘Radio Deluxe‘ the John and Jessica radio show that broadcasts every Sunday morning on Jazz.Fm. This last week John mentioned that he’s the only jazz guitarist who was a featured chef on the Jacques Pépin Foundation’s, Cook with Jacques and Friends.

If you are not aware Jacques Pépin is a French-born, American chef, author, culinary educator, television personality, and artist. I first became aware of Jacques when he co-hosted a cooking show with Julia Child.

I only became aware of his artistic mastery quite recently. The Art of Jacques Pépin, have a look at his art and listen to the interview where he shares his inspiration and his amazing menus.

3. This week I am reading two books, one that I discovered recently, Total Stick Fighting Shintaido Bojutsu by Hiroyuki Aoki is my daytime read and another one that was a gift, Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, is my nighttime read, check the link to her wonderful TED Talk, Your Elusive Creative Genius.

I watched the movie Eat, Pray, Love and really liked it, I find that books are usually much more detailed than the movies they have spawned. I’m looking forward to getting wrapped up in the book.

4. My listening pleasure this week is all about R&B artists, some new talent. Well, new for me, names like Jerome Thomas, Kaleem Taylor, Teyana Taylor with help from Elton John, Nyah Grace, Tanerélle, Victoria Monétand Celeste, reminiscent of Amy Winehouse.

5. A friend of mine is a safety inspector involved with the nuclear industry and we always discussed the horrendous disaster that occurred at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant in Fukushima, Japan. He shared with me a link for a documentary: ‘Inside Japan’s Nuclear Meltdown‘, which is featured on a cool site, ‘Documentary Heaven‘.

Thank you for reading, if you think someone you know would like to read my newsletter please share it with them. If you are looking for a great children’s book check out my new book, Samba in Brazil;  Paperback version, on sale for a limited time.
