***** 5 Stars Elaine’ review – Feb 21, 2021, on Goodreads.com

I was sent an advanced reader copy of Samba in Brazil and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
Samba was bound to have more adventures and this delightful book is a perfect follow-up to Samba on a Snowy Day. I love the fact that Samba gets to visit the country that gave him his name and, together with Ariela, partakes in his first Carnaval parade.

Keep the adventures coming!

Elaine

***** 5 Stars Patricia’ review Feb 04, 2021 on Goodreads.com
I love the way the author gives a sense of the world with its places, and cultures — it’s such an important point for children to understand. He gives them the opportunity to learn different words in a different language.
Most of all I enjoyed the nonchalant way the author brings up words like evaporation, riptide, such a great way for an inquisitive child to dig further into knowing more.
At the end of the book the “Fun Facts” give the child an even deeper sense about Salvador, Bahia and I think what Yanuziello accomplishes is allowing the child to ask more questions: you read the story and are left with the sense of wanting to know more, which I think is a great accomplishment.
The illustrations also convey the colorful layout of the city and the joyful way of Brazilian Life.
… And boy, the breakfast: I could smell it!!! and I miss it hahahaha!!!!

Samba On A Snowy Day is a really fun and adorable book that kids will enjoy reading on a snowy day. It contains some interesting facts about Bernese Mountain Dogs that I wasn’t even aware of. It’s always nice when children’s storybooks contain real facts and lessons for the child reader to learn.

Joshua Miller did a fantastic job with the illustrations, which are both colorful and fun. They help draw the young reader in and mesh perfectly with the story itself.

Samba On A Snowy Day is definitely a book I would recommend to parents.

“And More Great Reviews.”

Samba on a Snowy Day by Paul Yanuziello is a charming story with amusing illustrations and engaging characters. Having gifted my four-year-old with a mastiff, I can relate to Ariela’s experiences with Samba’s exuberance. When Samba pulled Ariela through the snow, I had to laugh, as I have rescued my little boy from the same plight countless times in the past. Ariela’s solution to her predicament of a stubbornly resistant dog was quite realistic.

This is the perfect read for children thinking of or already owning a larger dog. I found it a delightful adventure for younger readers ages 3-6.

I enjoyed this book and hope to read more Samba stories in the future.

Paul Yanuziello’s picture book story, Samba on a Snowy Day, is a sweet story about the snowy adventures surrounding a little girl and her Bernese puppy. While the plot includes a romp in the snow, it also educates the young reader on Bernese dogs, how to train them & how big they are.

The story is colorfully illustrated, the illustrations helping to carry the story along. The language is simple and appropriate for a young reader.

A fun read.
