Autumn’s Awakening: A Season of Creative Renewal
The beauty of autumn and the fall of leaves brings an awakening and spiritual rebirth to nature. Take in this beauty from your personal sanctuary—your heart’s divine space for dreams.
Welcome to my monthly journal, where I share five points of interest that keep me involved, busy, smiling, and writing. This month, we explore festivals, literary events, music, and the magic of seasonal transitions.
1. Featured Events: Art & Literature Festivals

2. Diving into Audiobook Production
Following numerous reader suggestions, I’ve embarked on transforming my children’s chapter books into audiobooks. What seemed like a simple matter of reading aloud has revealed itself to be a complex and multifaceted craft.
Creating quality audiobooks requires wearing multiple hats:
– Narrator – bringing characters to life through voice
– Producer – managing the overall project vision
– Sound technician – ensuring professional audio quality
I’ve enrolled in ACX University through Audiobook Creation Exchange to master these skills properly. My first project will be Scratchy the Squirrel: A Time for Friends, the inaugural book in my Blue Mountain Series.
3. River Adventures: Three Waterways Explored
This month’s paddling adventures took me to three magnificent local rivers:
– Beaver River
– Saugeen River
– Sydenham River

Each expedition lasted approximately four hours, with upstream paddling providing an excellent workout against moderate to strong currents. The highlight of each journey? Swimming au naturel in these pristine waters—truly connecting with nature in its purest form.
Musical Celebrations: Jazz Legends Honored
Two incredible concerts are commanding my attention this October:

Saturday, October 11, 2025
